چکیده

Abstract Background Renal stones are a prevalent urological disorder with various treatment options, including minimally invasive techniques such as Standard-PCNL (S-PCNL) and Mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy (M-PCNL). This study aims to compare the efficacy safety outcomes of M-PCNL S-PCNL for managing renal calculi. Methods randomized enrolled 60 patients stones, comparing (Group A) B) procedures. Preoperative assessments, surgical procedures, postoperative care were conducted, operating time, stone clearance, analgesic requirement, hospital stay evaluated. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software, comparisons between groups conducted Chi-square test Student t test. Results had longer operation time (133.73 ± 29.18 min) than (48.6 17.88 min, p = 0.009) but lower mean drop in hemoglobin levels (0.14 0.01 g/dL vs. 0.82 0.05 g/dL, 0.032). The success rates (stone-free rate) significantly different, 100% group 86.7% ( 0.040). Complications generally fewer group, fever 2 cases (M-PCNL) 8 mild collection 4 26 (S-PCNL). Conclusions is an effective safer method calculi smaller 3 cm, offering higher stone-free rate, pain, shorter stays compared S-PCNL. Despite times due fragmentation, has complications, bleeding rates, drop, leakage, can be ureteroscope when miniperc scope unavailable.

Neurologic Complications in Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy

PURPOSE Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) has been the preferred procedure for the removal of large renal stones in Iran since 1990. Recently, we encountered a series of devastating neurologic complications during PCNL, including paraplegia and hemiplegia. There are several reports of neurologic complications following PCNL owing to paradoxical air emboli, but there are no reports of parapleg...

Complications associated with percutaneous nephrolithotomy

The increasing global prevalence of nephrolithiasis continues to burden the healthcare delivery systems of industrialized nations and exact a disproportionate humanitarian toll on populations of the developing world (1). In the United States alone, the prevalence of nephrolithiasis is nearly twice the rate reported in the 1960s (2-5). The subsequent rise in surgical interventions for nephrolith...
